Amsterdamsche W vs Excel Maassluis

AMSTERDAM (Interstat) — Amsterdamsche W hosts Excel Maassluis on Saturday, May 9, in a Tweede Divisie matchup with contrasting recent form and a projected narrow home victory.

Amsterdamsche W enters the fixture off a 3-0 win at RKAV Volendam on April 25, snapping a run of two defeats. The team’s season has been erratic. In its previous 10 matches, Amsterdamsche W is 4-4-2, with notable results including a 3-2 win at VV Rijnsburgse Boys on Feb. 28 and a 2-0 win over Spakenburg on March 28. However, the club also suffered a 5-1 loss at HSV Hoek on April 18 and a 3-0 home defeat to Jong Sparta on April 11.

Excel Maassluis is winless in six matches, its form deteriorating sharply. After a 3-0 win at Jong Sparta on Feb. 21 and a 3-1 win over Spakenburg on Feb. 7, Excel Maassluis lost five of its next six, including a 4-0 loss at HHC Hardenberg on March 28 and a 4-0 defeat at RKAV Volendam on March 7. The team managed only one goal in that stretch, a 3-1 loss at ACV on March 14. Its most recent result was a 2-1 home loss to Kozakken Boys on April 25.

The two teams met in the reverse fixture on Nov. 29, 2025, a 1-1 draw in Maassluis. That result extended a trend of close competition; the previous two meetings before that were also draws. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 2-1 victory for Amsterdamsche W on Saturday.

Amsterdamsche W will seek to use home advantage to build on its recent win. The team’s attack has been inconsistent, scoring multiple goals in only four of its previous 10 matches, but its defense has shown resilience, recording clean sheets in three of those contests, including the Volendam win.

Excel Maassluis, mired near the bottom of the Tweede Divisie standings, must reverse a trend of conceding early and often. In its five losses during the current winless streak, it allowed at least two goals in each, and three times surrendered three or more.

Following Saturday’s match, Amsterdamsche W travels to face GVVV on May 16, then hosts HHC Hardenberg on May 23. Excel Maassluis hosts Almere City on May 16 and visits Barendrecht on May 23.

Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday at a time to be announced.
