AP Sports Preview
WERKENDAM, Netherlands (Interstat) — Kozakken Boys hosts GVVV on Saturday in a Tweede Divisie matchup, with both teams seeking momentum in the middle of the season.
Kozakken Boys enters the game after a 2-1 victory at Excel Maassluis on April 25, its second win in three matches. The team is 4-2-1 in its last seven outings, with the lone loss a 4-1 defeat to Jong Sparta on March 28. Kozakken Boys has shown resilience on the road, posting wins at Spakenburg and HSV Hoek in recent weeks, but has been inconsistent at home, splitting its last four matches at Werkendam.
GVVV comes off a 3-1 win over VV Ijsselmeervogels on April 25, ending a three-match losing streak. Before that result, GVVV had dropped four of five, including a 6-0 thrashing at KVV Quick Boys on April 18 and a 2-1 loss at HHC Hardenberg. The visitors have struggled defensively, allowing three or more goals in four matches this season.
The teams met Nov. 29, with GVVV winning 3-2 at home. That result marked GVVV’s only win in the last four meetings between the sides.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 2-1 victory for Kozakken Boys.
GVVV’s schedule does not ease after Saturday: the team hosts Amsterdamsche W on May 16 and travels to Almere City on May 23. Kozakken Boys visits HHC Hardenberg on May 16 and hosts KVV Quick Boys on May 23.
