Barendrecht vs Spakenburg

BARENDRECHT, Netherlands (Interstat) — Barendrecht will seek a measure of redemption when it hosts Spakenburg in a Tweede Divisie match on Saturday, a fixture heavily shaded by a lopsided result from their last meeting.

The visitors arrive with momentum from a signature victory, having defeated Eredivisie side Almere City 1-0 in a KNVB Cup semifinal last Saturday. That cup run contrasts with their recent league form, which has been inconsistent. Spakenburg (3-3-4 in its last 10 league matches) followed a March 7 win over Quick Boys with consecutive losses to Kozakken Boys and Amsterdamsche FC before the cup triumph.

Barendrecht enters on a high after a 2-1 road victory over Koninklijke UD Deventer last weekend snapped a three-match winless streak in the league. Their form at Sportpark De Bongerd has been mixed, with two wins, two draws and a loss in their last five domestic home fixtures.

However, the dominant storyline is the teams’ previous encounter on Nov. 15, 2025, an 8-0 demolition by Spakenburg at its Sportpark De Westmaat. That result will undoubtedly weigh on the hosts.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the clubs are projected to split the points in a 2-2 draw this weekend.

The match is a key fixture in the final stretch of the Dutch third-tier season. Following this game, Spakenburg’s next league match is at home against VV Rijnsburgse Boys on April 25. Barendrecht travels to face Jong Sparta on the same date.
