Canada  vs AS Maniema Union

TORONTO (Interstat) — Canada will host AS Maniema Union of the Democratic Republic of Congo in a CAF Confederation Cup group stage match on Saturday.

The North American side enters the contest with a perfect record in the competition, sitting at 1-0-0 after a 2-0 road victory over Tanzania’s Young African FC on Sept. 20. Their overall season record also stands at 1-0-0.

The visiting Congolese club holds a 1-0-1 record in Confederation Cup play, having defeated Mauritius’ Pamplemousses SC 2-1 on Sept. 27 before a draw last weekend.

The two teams are familiar with each other, having played to a 1-1 stalemate in Kinshasa just one week ago, on Oct. 18. That result provides the most recent form line for both squads.

Statistical projections for the rematch are conflicting. Interstat’s game simulator forecasts a narrow 1-0 victory for AS Maniema Union. However, the same outlet’s ELO rating system gives Canada a 65.30 percent probability of winning the match.

Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday at a venue to be determined in Canada.
