ALMELO, Netherlands (Interstat) — Heracles Almelo delivered a stunning 4-1 upset victory over NAC Breda W on Wednesday in the first round of the KNVB Beker Women’s tournament at Rat Verlegh Stadion. The result defied pre-match projections that heavily favored the home side.

The visitors’ offense was powered by their substitutes, with Ajdin Hrustic, Jizz Hornkamp, Boy Kemper and Yvandro Borges Sanches each scoring a goal. Heracles Almelo’s four unanswered goals came after Walid Ould-Chikh scored a late consolation for NAC Breda W in stoppage time.

The win gives Heracles Almelo a 1-0 start in the cup competition, while NAC Breda W begins its campaign 0-1.
