Edinburgh City vs Stirling University FC

EDINBURGH, Scotland (Interstat) — A Scottish Cup clash on Saturday pits an in-form Stirling University FC against an Edinburgh City side playing its first competitive match in nearly two years.

The SWF Scottish Cup matchup at Edinburgh’s home ground will see the visitors enter with momentum from a decisive 6-2 victory over Burntisland Shipyard FC on Sept. 29. That result pushed Stirling University’s record across all competitions to 1-0-0.

Edinburgh City, by contrast, has not played a match since a 1-1 draw with Dryburgh Athletic on Nov. 19, 2023. Their record in all competitions sits at 0-0-0, making their current form a significant unknown.

According to the Interstat game simulator, the contest is projected to be a high-scoring affair, favoring Stirling University in a narrow 3-2 victory.

Stirling University will look to capitalize on its recent offensive explosion, while Edinburgh City aims to shake off the rust and begin its cup campaign with an upset at home. Following this cup tie, Edinburgh City’s next scheduled match is not until Jan. 9, 2026, away at Ayr United.

Kickoff is set for Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025.
