LISBON (Interstat) — CA Benfica W opened its Taça da Liga Feminina campaign with a 3-0 victory over CD Tondela on Wednesday at Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica. The home side’s attack overpowered a Tondela defense that failed to register a goal. Dodi Lukebakio opened the scoring in the 83rd minute before Vangelis Pavlidis sealed the win with a stoppage-time goal. The result defied a pre-game projection from Interstat, which had surprisingly favored Tondela with a simulated 1-0 scoreline. With the win, Benfica W begins the competition with a 1-0 record, while Tondela starts 0-1.
