BRAGA, Portugal (Interstat) — SC Braga opened its Taça da Liga Feminina campaign with a dominant 5-0 victory over CD Santa Clara on Wednesday at Estádio Municipal de Braga. The lopsided result defied a pregame projection that favored Santa Clara.

Pau Victor opened the scoring in the seventh minute, setting the tone for the rout. Defender Leonardo Lelo also scored and assisted, while Fran Navarro, Diego Rodrigues and Gabriel Moscardo added a goal each. Gustaf Lagerbielke was among four players shown yellow cards in a physical match.

With the win, Braga begins the competition with a 1-0 record, while Santa Clara starts 0-1.
