BERGAMO, Italy (Jan. 21, 2026) (Interstat) — Athletic Club delivered a stunning 3-2 upset victory over Atalanta in a Champions League group stage match Wednesday at New Balance Arena, defying overwhelming pregame projections.

The visitors twice erased one-goal deficits. Atalanta’s Gianluca Scamacca opened the scoring in the 16th minute, but Athletic substitute Gorka Guruzeta equalized before halftime.
