Juventus Upsets Heavily Favored Pafos in Champions League Group Stage

TORINO, Italy (Dec. 10, 2025) (Interstat) — Juventus FC delivered a stunning 2-0 victory over heavily favored Pafos in a Champions League group stage match Wednesday at Allianz Stadium, defying overwhelming statistical projections.

The visitors from Cyprus, whom Interstat’s ELO system gave a 97.40 percent probability to win, were shut out. Juventus broke through in the 67th minute when midfielder Weston McKennie scored. Forward Jonathan David added a second goal just five minutes later in the 72nd minute.

Midfielder Manuel Locatelli and substitute Ivan Šunjić each recorded an assist for Juventus. Both players also received yellow cards in the match. The win gives Juventus a winning start in European competition this season, while Pafos begins with a loss.
