BILBAO, Spain (Dec. 10, 2025) (Interstat) — Athletic Club and Paris Saint-Germain played to a scoreless draw in their Champions League group stage opener Wednesday at San Mamés. The result defied pregame projections that heavily favored the French side.

Interstat’s simulator had predicted a 4-0 PSG victory, and its ELO system gave the visitors a 69.2% chance to win. Instead, both defenses held firm in a physical match that produced four yellow cards.

Midfielders Álex Berenguer, Unai Gómez and Mikel Jauregizar were key for Athletic, while substitute Warren Zaïre-Emery provided a spark for PSG. The draw leaves both teams with identical records in the competition and across all competitions this season.
