West Brom Albion vs Ipswich Town
Preview: West Bromwich Albion vs. Ipswich Town
LONDON (Interstat) — West Bromwich Albion hosts Ipswich Town on Saturday, April 25, in a Championship clash with significant playoff implications at The Hawthorns.
The Baggies enter the match on a high, having defeated Watford 3-0 on Tuesday. That victory extended their unbeaten run to four matches, a stretch that includes a 2-0 win at Preston North End and a scoreless draw at Millwall. Manager Carlos Corberan’s side has been defensively stingy, allowing just one goal in their last five outings.
Ipswich, meanwhile, arrives in the West Midlands seeking to reverse a troubling trend. The Tractor Boys lost 1-0 at Portsmouth on April 14, their third defeat in four matches. In their most recent head-to-head with West Brom, however, Ipswich won 1-0 on Oct. 25, 2025, at Portman Road. That result snapped a three-match winless streak for Ipswich in the series.
Ipswich has shown attacking potency this season, including a 3-0 home win over Swansea City on Feb. 28 and a 4-1 demolition of the same opponent on Nov. 8. But consistency has eluded Kieran McKenna’s squad, which has also lost to Wrexham and managed draws against Burnley and Blackburn.
West Brom has been more steady, with only one defeat in their last 10 — a 2-1 loss at Oxford United on Feb. 28. Notable results include a 3-0 win over Hull City and a 1-1 draw with Southampton.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-1 draw.
Following Saturday’s match, Ipswich travels to Southampton on Tuesday. West Brom visits Sheffield Wednesday on May 2.
