OXFORD, England (April 11, 2026) (Interstat) — Oxford United began its English Football League Championship campaign with a 2-0 victory over Watford at The Kassam Stadium on Saturday.

Myles Peart-Harris opened the scoring in the 19th minute, assisted by substitute Imran Louza. Peart-Harris then provided the helper for Mark Harris, who sealed the win in second-half stoppage time. Three yellow cards were issued in a physical second half.

The result defied a pre-match projection from Interstat, which had simulated a 1-1 draw and gave Oxford a 53% probability to win. Oxford starts the season 1-0-0, while Watford begins 0-1-0.
