Late Campbell Brace Earns Sheffield United Draw Against West Brom
SHEFFIELD, England (Interstat) — Substitute George Campbell scored twice in the second half to salvage a 1-1 draw for Sheffield United against West Bromwich Albion in a Championship match Saturday at Bramall Lane.
The result defied pregame projections that heavily favored the home side. West Brom took the lead in the 53rd minute when Campbell, who had just entered the match, finished an assist from Jaïro Riedewald. Campbell struck again in the 83rd minute, this time converting a pass from fellow substitute Charlie Taylor to equalize.
The match featured three yellow cards, issued to Riedewald, Taylor and Sheffield United’s Gustavo Hamer. Both teams opened their league campaigns with a draw, moving to 0-0-1 records.
