SURABAYA, Indonesia (Interstat) — Persebaya Surabaya defeated PSM 1-0 on Wednesday in a Liga 1 match at Stadion Gelora Bung Tomo.

The game’s lone goal came in the 27th minute from forward Paulo Gali. The assist was credited to midfielder Francisco Rivera, who was later shown a yellow card in the 13th minute. The match was a physical affair, with five total yellow cards issued.

The victory improved Persebaya Surabaya’s league record to 10 wins, five losses and six draws this season. PSM’s struggles continued, falling to 5-10-8. The result defied a pregame statistical projection that had favored Persebaya Surabaya but forecast a 1-1 draw.
