ESPALY, France (Interstat) — Dijon defeated Le Puy Foot 2-1 in a National 1 match Saturday at Stade Charles Massot 1. Waly Diouf put the visitors ahead in the 31st minute. Michaël Barreto, a substitute, equalized for the hosts in the 64th minute. Axel Darnaud netted the decisive goal in the 88th minute off an assist from Lenny Lacroix. César Obongo also recorded an assist. Dijon improved to 17-3-11 in league play and 24-8-19 overall, while Le Puy Foot dropped to 12-9-14 in National 1 and 12-10-18 across all competitions. The teams had met earlier this season on Jan. 16, with Dijon winning 2-0. Four yellow cards were issued: to Abdelnour Soualhia in the 54th minute, César Obongo in the 54th, Lenny Lacroix in the 72nd and Salim Akkal in the 74th.
