Dijon vs B-e-B Peronnas

Preview: Dijon Hosts B-e-B Peronnas in National 1 Clash

DIJON, France (Interstat) — Dijon FCO will look to solidify its standing near the top of the French National 1 table when it hosts struggling B-e-B Peronnas on Friday.

The match at Stade Gaston-Gérard pits a Dijon side with strong home form against a Peronnas team desperate to halt a recent slide. The visitors sit perilously close to the relegation zone.

Dijon (14-6-8) enters the contest following a 3-1 road loss to Fleury 91 last Friday, which snapped a four-match unbeaten run in league play. Prior to that, Dijon had won three of four, including an impressive 4-2 victory at Auxerre. At home, Dijon has been formidable, losing just once in its last eight domestic fixtures at Gaston-Gérard.

B-e-B Peronnas (8-9-11) is in a dire stretch, winless in its last five matches (0-2-3) and coming off a demoralizing 1-0 home loss to Paris 13 Atletico. The team has managed only one goal during this winless streak and has been shut out in three of those contests. Its last victory was a 3-1 result against Rouen on March 6.

The head-to-head history favors Dijon, which earned a 2-1 away victory over Peronnas on Nov. 7 in the teams’ most recent meeting.

A statistical projection from Interstat forecasts a 1-1 draw for Friday’s match. That result would extend Peronnas’ unbeaten run against Dijon to two matches but do little to ease its relegation concerns.

For Dijon, the fixture is a critical opportunity to keep pace in the promotion race before a quick turnaround to host US Feurs in a domestic cup match on Saturday. Peronnas will hope to find a spark before a daunting schedule continues next week with a home match against Caen.

Key Matchup: Dijon’s attacking momentum at home versus Peronnas’ struggling defense, which has conceded multiple goals in three of its last five games.

Kickoff: Friday, 7 p.m. local time at Stade Gaston-Gérard in Dijon.
