Tamworth vs Braintree Town

AP Sports Preview

LONDON (Interstat) — Tamworth will host Braintree Town on Saturday, April 25, 2026, in a National League matchup at The Lamb Ground.

The game carries significant weight for both sides as the season enters its final stretch. Tamworth enters the match after a 1-1 draw at Eastleigh on April 18, a result that extended their recent run of mixed form. The Lambs have won three of their last six outings, including a 1-0 victory over Solihull Moors on April 3 and a 1-0 win at Brackley Town on March 28. However, they have also endured losses to York City (1-0 on April 11) and Rochdale (3-2 on March 21), along with a 2-2 draw at Halifax Town on April 6.

Braintree Town comes to Staffordshire reeling from a 2-1 defeat at Rochdale on April 18, their third loss in four matches. The Iron have struggled for consistency, posting a 1-4-5 record over their last 10 contests. Their only win in that span came at Truro City on Feb. 28 (3-2). Among the recent lowlights are a 4-1 loss at Wealdstone on March 7 and a 3-1 defeat at Forest Green Rovers on April 11. Braintree has managed just two draws — at Woking (0-0 on April 6) and at Morecambe (1-1 on March 14) — since that Truro victory.

The teams met earlier this season on Sept. 2, 2025, with Tamworth claiming a 2-1 victory at Braintree.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-1 draw.

Tamworth’s next scheduled fixture is at home against Harborough Town on May 2.

Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. local time.
