Altrincham vs Gateshead

AP Sports Preview

LONDON (Interstat) — Altrincham hosts Gateshead on Saturday, April 25, in a National League matchup with both sides seeking momentum in the late-season standings.

Altrincham enters the contest at Moss Lane following a 2-1 road victory at Sutton United on April 18. The Robins have won three of their last five matches, including a 1-0 shutout of Eastleigh on April 11. However, consistency has been elusive. Altrincham fell 2-1 at York City on April 6 and dropped a 1-0 decision at home to Halifax Town on April 3. A 1-1 draw at Woking on March 31 and a 1-0 loss to Solihull Moors on March 28 illustrate the team’s fluctuating form. Altrincham did manage a 2-2 draw at Boston United on March 24 and a 1-0 win at Southend United on March 21.

Gateshead arrives in Greater Manchester after a frustrating 3-0 home defeat to Woking on April 18. The Heed had strung together two consecutive wins prior to that setback: a 1-0 victory at Aldershot Town on April 11 and a 2-0 home triumph over Scunthorpe United on April 6. A scoreless draw at Carlisle United on April 3 and a 2-1 win at Yeovil Town on March 28 round out their recent form. Gateshead also posted a 3-1 win at York City on March 24 before a 3-0 loss at Boreham Wood on March 21.

The teams last met on Sept. 3, 2025, when Altrincham earned a 2-0 shutout at Gateshead.

Gateshead’s recent road performance presents a mixed picture: wins at Aldershot and York, but including a draw at Carlisle and the lopsided loss at Boreham Wood. Altrincham’s home record includes the victory over Eastleigh but also the defeat to Halifax.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-1 draw.

Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. local time.
