TRURO, England (Interstat) — Truro City and Forest Green Rovers opened their National League seasons with a 1-1 draw Monday at Truro Sports Hub. The match, which defied pregame projections favoring Forest Green, was ignited by a flurry of late action.

Substitute Tom Knowles broke the deadlock for Forest Green in the 75th minute, assisted by Tate Campbell. Truro City responded nine minutes later, with Luke Jephcott equalizing off a feed from Knowles. The game’s tempo intensified with six yellow cards issued after the 74th minute. Forest Green played a man down for the final half-hour after Abraham Kanu received a red card in the 59th minute. Both clubs begin the campaign with identical records across all competitions.
