BRAINTREE TOWN HOSTS WOKING IN KEY NATIONAL LEAGUE CLASH

BRAINTREE, England (Interstat) — Braintree Town will host Woking on Monday in a National League fixture with both teams seeking consistency as the English football season enters its final weeks.

The match at the Cressing Road Stadium kicks off at 3 p.m. local time (1400 GMT).

The Iron (Braintree Town) enter on a four-match winless run, having lost three of those contests. Their most recent outing was a 3-2 defeat at Southend United on Friday. Their last victory came on Dec. 30, a 1-0 away win over this same Woking side.

Woking, known as the Cardinals, are unbeaten in their last three matches but have drawn two of them, including a 3-3 thriller with Eastleigh on Friday. Their form has been mixed, showing resilience with late draws but also vulnerability, as seen in a 3-0 loss to Rochdale in late February.

A statistical projection from Interstat forecasts a 1-1 draw.

The head-to-head advantage narrowly favors the hosts. In their last meeting in December, Braintree’s 1-0 victory at the Laithwaite Community Stadium provided a crucial three points.

In the table, both sides are positioned in the mid-to-lower half. With only a handful of games remaining after Monday, points are critical for building momentum and securing standing.

For Braintree, ending their recent skid is the immediate priority. Manager Angelo Harrop will demand a tighter defensive performance after conceding three goals in each of their last two defeats.

Woking manager Luke Williams will look to translate their recent unbeaten streak into a full three points on the road. His team has demonstrated scoring capability, netting three goals in two of their last four games, but keeping clean sheets has been an issue.

Following this match, Braintree Town travels to face Forest Green Rovers next Saturday. Woking will prepare for a home fixture against Morecambe next Saturday.

The National League is the fifth tier of the English football pyramid.
