Yeovil Town Edges Morecambe in Five-Goal National League Thriller

YEOVIL, England (March 21, 2026) (Interstat) — Yeovil Town opened its National League season with a 3-2 victory over Morecambe in a back-and-forth match Saturday at Huish Park.

The home side twice surrendered a lead before securing the win. Brett McGavin put Yeovil ahead in the 10th minute, but Morecambe substitute Gwion Edwards equalized in the 34th. James Daly restored Yeovil’s lead just before the hour mark, only for Morecambe’s Ryan Jones to level again four minutes later. The decisive goal came from Yeovil substitute Jack Nolan in the 62nd minute.

The result defied a pre-match projection of a 1-1 draw. Morecambe’s Paul Lewis and Lewis Payne received yellow cards in quick succession late in the first half. The loss leaves Morecambe still seeking its first win this season.
