BOREHAMWOOD, England (March 21, 2026) (Interstat) — Boreham Wood opened its National League season with a commanding 3-0 victory over Gateshead on Saturday at Mangata Developments Stadium Meadow Park.

The home side controlled the match from the start. Forward Leon Ayinde opened the scoring in the 12th minute. Substitute Fenton John doubled the lead in the 38th, and midfielder Zak Brunt added a third just before halftime in the 46th. Assists came from substitutes Sam Bowen and Kenton Richardson, and midfielder Regan Booty.

The result defied a pregame projection from Interstat, which had simulated a 1-1 draw despite giving Boreham Wood a high probability to win. The loss leaves Gateshead seeking its first win of the campaign across all competitions.
