Late Eze Strike Earns Gateshead Draw Against Sutton Utd
GATESHEAD, England (Interstat) — Substitute Dubem Eze scored an 84th-minute equalizer to salvage a 1-1 draw for Gateshead against Sutton Utd in a National League match Saturday at Gateshead International Stadium.
Harry Chapman had given the visiting side a lead in the 29th minute, finishing an assist from Ashley Boatswain. Gateshead’s response came late, with Eze tapping in after a setup from fellow substitute Kwaku Donkor. The match featured three yellow cards, issued to Donkor, Boatswain and Lewis Simper.
The result left both teams in the lower half of the table. The draw mirrored the pregame projection from Interstat’s simulator, though its system had slightly favored Gateshead to win.
