MORECAMBE, England (Interstat) — Morecambe delivered a stunning 5-0 away victory over Sutton United in a National League match Saturday, defying heavy pregame odds.

The visitors scored four times in a blistering first 26 minutes at VBS Community Stadium. Substitute Jack Nolan netted a first-half hat trick, with goals in the 16th, 20th and 25th minutes. Paul Lewis opened the scoring in the sixth minute and Daniel Ogwuru added a 79th-minute goal.

Sutton United played a man down after Junior Eccleston received a red card in the 26th minute. The lopsided result contradicted a pregame projection that gave Sutton United a 77 percent probability to win.

The win gives Morecambe a winning start to its National League campaign.
