Bochum vs Stuttgart

BOCHUM, Germany (Interstat) — Stuttgart visits Bochum on Sunday, May 3, 2026, in a 2. Bundesliga matchup that pits a side on a three-match unbeaten run in league play against a home team searching for its first victory since early March.

Stuttgart (7-5-5 in its last 10 matches across all competitions) enters the contest just one day after a 3-3 draw at Hoffenheim on Saturday. The club has not lost in its last three league outings, posting wins over Meppen 1912 II and Hamburger SV II along with the draw at Werder Bremen. However, Stuttgart has also been vulnerable, dropping a 4-2 decision at Bayern Munich on April 19 and losing at Alemannia Aachen on April 11.

Bochum (2-5-11 in its last 18 matches) has struggled to find form. Its most recent result was a 3-0 loss at FSV Mainz 05 W on April 26. Since a 3-1 victory at RB Leipzig on Feb. 21, Bochum has managed only two draws and six losses in its last eight outings, including a 2-0 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt II in March. The team’s only win in that span came March 15 against Andernach, a 1-0 decision on the road.

The head-to-head record this season strongly favors Stuttgart. The visitors won both previous meetings by a combined 11-3 margin. On Nov. 23, 2025, Stuttgart hammered Bochum 6-0 at home. A week later on Nov. 30, Stuttgart posted a 5-3 victory at Bochum.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 2-1 win for Stuttgart, and the website’s ELO system gives Stuttgart a 68.80 percent probability of victory.

Stuttgart’s upcoming schedule includes a busy run with two matches on May 9 – at Hansa Rostock (3. Liga) and hosting Bayer Leverkusen (Bundesliga) – followed by a 2. Bundesliga clash at VfL Wolfsburg II on May 10. For Bochum, next up is a home match against Borussia M’gladbach on May 10 before traveling to Meppen 1912 II on May 17.

Kickoff is set for later Sunday at Vonovia Ruhrstadion.
