Glenavon Routs Portadown in Premiership Match
LURGAN, Northern Ireland (Interstat) — Glenavon defeated Portadown 3-0 on Saturday in a Northern Irish Premiership match at Mourneview Park.
Patrick Burns opened the scoring in the 24th minute, and Conor Falls added a second goal just three minutes later. Paul McGovern sealed the victory with a third goal in the 73rd minute. Portadown failed to find a response.
The result provides a rare bright spot for Glenavon in a difficult season. Portadown, which had won the two previous meetings between the sides this season, saw its momentum halted decisively. The match was part of the league’s regular-season schedule.
