KUOPIO, Finland (Interstat) — Kuopion Elo FC opened its Veikkausliiga season with a 3-2 victory over Inter Turku on Sunday at Väre Areena, defying heavy pregame odds. The home side secured the win after a second-half goal from forward Piotr Parzyszek broke a 2-2 deadlock. Iiro Järvinen also scored for Kuopion Elo. The result was an upset, as Interstat’s ELO system had given Inter Turku an 84.5 percent probability to win. Kuopion Elo FC begins the campaign 1-0-0, while Inter Turku starts 0-1-0.
