Dungannon Swifts vs Glenavon

DUNGANNON, Northern Ireland (Interstat) — Dungannon Swifts will look to rebound from a heavy defeat and capitalize on Glenavon’s historically poor form when the two sides meet in the Northern Irish Premiership on Saturday.

The Swifts (5-6-0) are returning home after a 4-0 loss to Coleraine last weekend, which halted a three-game league winning streak. Prior to that, Dungannon had secured impressive victories over Glentoran, Larne and Ballymena United.

Glenavon (0-0-11), in stark contrast, arrives with a glimmer of hope after securing its first positive result of the season across all competitions last Saturday, a 1-0 win over Carrick Rangers. That result ended an 11-match losing streak to open the campaign.

The Lurgan Blues remain rooted to the bottom of the table, having been outscored 24-3 in Premiership play. Their last meeting with Dungannon resulted in a 2-0 loss on Sept. 6.

Despite Glenavon’s monumental struggles, a statistical projection from Interstat forecasts a 2-2 draw at Stangmore Park. Dungannon holds a clear advantage in the table and will be favored to secure all three points at home.

Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. local time.
