Glentoran Edges Crusaders in Northern Ireland Premiership Opener
BELFAST, Northern Ireland (Interstat) — Glentoran opened its Premiership campaign with a 3-2 victory over Crusaders at Seaview on Saturday. Fraser Bryden scored twice for the visiting Glentoran, including a 73rd-minute goal that proved to be the winner. Jordan Jenkins opened the scoring for Glentoran in the 24th minute. Crusaders mounted a late comeback with goals from Ryan Cooney in the 89th minute and David Fisher in stoppage time, but it was not enough. The result defied a pregame projection from Interstat, which gave Glentoran a 61.7% chance to win but simulated a 1-1 draw.
