HELSINKI (Interstat) — Denmark’s women’s national team erupted for a 6-1 victory over Finland on Friday in a UEFA Women’s Nations League match at Tammelan Stadion. The result was a stunning reversal of pregame projections that heavily favored the home side.

Substitutes powered the Danish attack, with Pernille Harder and Sara Holmgaard each scoring twice. Emma Snerle and Sofie Svava also scored off the bench. Finland’s lone reply came from Lotta Lindström in the 90th minute.

The lopsided win marked Denmark’s first victory of the season across all competitions, improving its overall record. Finland’s season record across all competitions now stands at two wins, one loss and two draws.
