RECIFE, Brazil (Interstat) — Flamengo delivered a dominant performance Saturday, crushing Sport Recife 5-1 in a Carioca Série A match at Itaipava Arena Pernambuco. The visitors scored five unanswered goals after Pablo Felipe opened the scoring for the hosts in the 15th minute. Luiz Araújo, Juninho, Bruno Henrique and Ayrton Lucas all found the net for Flamengo in the decisive victory. The match was marred by discipline, with Sport Recife’s Matheus Alexandre and Ramon Menezes both sent off with red cards in the first half. The result defied a pregame projection of a draw, solidifying Flamengo’s strong start to the season.
