REYKJAVÍK, Iceland (Interstat) — UMF Breioablik and Turkish side Samsunspor played to a 2-2 draw in a UEFA Europa Conference League group stage match Thursday at Laugardalsvöllur.

Breioablik’s Davíð Ingvarsson opened the scoring in the sixth minute, but Samsunspor substitute Marius Mouandilmadji scored twice, in the 20th and 55th minutes, to give the visitors a lead. Kristófer Ingi Kristinsson secured the draw for the Icelandic hosts with a 72nd-minute equalizer. Samsunspor’s Damir Muminovic received a yellow card in stoppage time. The result left both teams with a draw in their first match of the competition, defying pregame projections that favored Samsunspor.
