VALLETTA, Malta (Interstat) — Brian Thaylor’s first-half goal was the difference as Valletta defeated Hibernians 1-0 in a Malta Premier League match Saturday at Ta’Qali National Stadium. Thaylor scored in the 37th minute, securing the victory for the home side. The win defied the projected final score from Interstat’s game simulator, which had forecast a 2-1 Valletta victory. The firm’s ELO system had also given Valletta a 79.60 percent probability to win. Both teams opened their league campaigns with the result.
