VALENCIENNES, France (Jan. 31, 2026) (Interstat) — A first-half goal from substitute Fahd El Khoumisti delivered a 1-0 victory for Lorient U19 over Valenciennes in a National 1 match Saturday at Stade du Hainaut.

El Khoumisti broke the deadlock in the 38th minute, finishing an assist from midfielder Quentin Daubin. Daubin later received a yellow card in the 67th minute. Gaëtan Courtet, who also assisted on the decisive goal, was booked in the 90th minute.

The result defied a pre-match projection from Interstat, which gave Lorient U19 a 52.6% chance to win but had simulated a 2-1 scoreline. With the win, Lorient U19 begins its campaign at 1-0-0, while Valenciennes starts 0-1-0.
