Preview: Cagliari U20 Hosts Fiorentina U20 in Primavera 1 Clash

ROME (Interstat) — Cagliari U20 will look to replicate a recent victory over Fiorentina U20 when the sides meet again in Italy’s Campionato Primavera 1 on Sunday.

The match at Cagliari’s home venue is scheduled for March 22, 2026.

The hosts earned a narrow 1-0 win in the reverse fixture in Florence on Dec. 21. That result forms part of a mixed recent run for both clubs as they navigate the under-20 league.

Cagliari heads into the match following a heavy 5-2 away defeat to Atalanta U20 on March 14. Their form has been inconsistent, with just one win in their last five league outings — a 2-0 home victory over Monza U20 on March 8. They have proven difficult to beat at times, however, securing draws against top-half sides Juventus U20, Inter U20 and Lazio U20 since late January.

Fiorentina U20 arrives after a 1-1 home draw with AS Roma U20 on March 16. Their recent performances have been volatile, featuring a 4-1 win over Lazio and a 3-0 victory at Napoli U20 in February, but also a loss to Cesena U20 and a 3-2 defeat at Inter U20 in early March. Their away form shows a pattern of high-scoring games, with their last four road trips producing 15 total goals.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, Sunday’s contest is projected to end in a 1-1 draw.

Following this match, Cagliari U20 will continue its Primavera 1 campaign at home against Parma U20 on April 4. Fiorentina U20’s next fixture is at home against Frosinone U20 on April 6.

The Primavera 1 is Italy’s top-tier league for youth development, featuring the under-20 teams of professional clubs.
