Greenock Morton, Queen’s Park Stalemated in Scoreless Draw at Cappielow
GREENOCK, Scotland (Interstat) — Greenock Morton and Queen’s Park played to a 0-0 draw in a Scottish Championship match Saturday at Cappielow Park.
The result left both sides with identical records to open their league campaigns: 0 wins, 0 losses and 1 draw. The match failed to live up to its statistical projection, as Interstat’s game simulator had forecast a 1-1 final, and its ELO system gave Morton a 62.7% probability to win.
The game’s major incident was the sending off of Queen’s Park substitute Scott Martin in the 57th minute. Martin, who had entered the match in the 22nd minute and promptly received a yellow card, was later dismissed with a red card, forcing the visitors to play a man down for the final half-hour. Neither side could break the deadlock despite the numerical advantage.
