Dramatic Stoppage-Time Goals Force Draw in League One Opener
HUDDERSFIELD, England (Interstat) — Hfield Town and Wycombe Wanderers opened their League One seasons with a thrilling 3-3 draw Saturday at Accu Stadium. The match defied a pregame projection that heavily favored the home side.
Wycombe substitute Nathan Lowe opened the scoring in the 35th minute. Hfield Town responded with goals from Ryan Ledson and Marcus Harness to take a 2-1 lead. Substitute Connor Taylor appeared to seal the win for Hfield in the 90th minute, but Wycombe staged a stunning comeback in added time. Marcus Harness netted his second goal in the 96th minute before Lowe completed his brace with the equalizer in the 101st minute.
The result leaves both teams with identical records of no wins, no losses and one draw to start the campaign. Taylor Allen and Will Norris received yellow cards in the first half.
