Blackpool vs Exeter City

BLACKPOOL, England (Interstat) — Blackpool will host Exeter City in a League One fixture on Friday, looking to avenge a heavy defeat from earlier in the season and build on a rare victory.

The match at Bloomfield Road pits two sides in the lower half of England’s third tier against each other. The visitors arrive with momentum severely lacking, while the hosts are hoping a recent win can spark a late-season revival.

Exeter City travels north after a dismal run of form. The Grecians are winless in their last nine matches across all competitions, a streak featuring six losses. Their most recent outing was a 0-0 home draw with Leyton Orient on March 28. The slump includes heavy defeats, such as a 4-0 loss to Cardiff City and a 5-1 thrashing by Bolton Wanderers in late February.

However, Exeter can draw confidence from the season’s earlier meeting. On Aug. 9, 2025, Exeter routed Blackpool 4-1 at St James Park, a result that will be fresh in the minds of both squads.

Blackpool ended its own poor run with a 1-0 home victory over Burton Albion on March 28. That win snapped a four-match winless streak in the league, which included a 4-0 loss to Lincoln City and a 4-1 defeat at AFC Wimbledon. Their form at Bloomfield Road has been inconsistent, with just two wins in their last five home league games.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the contest is projected to end in a 1-1 draw.

The fixture is the first of a busy April for both clubs. Exeter City will host Doncaster on Monday, April 6, before a trip to Plymouth Argyle on April 11. Blackpool will visit Stevenage on Monday, April 6, followed by a home match against Peterborough United on April 11.

Friday’s match is scheduled for a 3 p.m. local time kickoff.
