Peterborough Utd vs Blackpool

LONDON (Interstat) — Two of England’s League One clubs mired in nearly identical poor form will meet Saturday when Peterborough United hosts Blackpool at London Road.

The matchup pits two teams with matching 2-8-1 records in league play this season, leaving them both near the bottom of the table. Across all competitions, Peterborough’s struggles are even more pronounced, with just two wins against 11 losses and one draw.

Peterborough (2-8-1) is coming off a rare positive result, a 1-0 road victory over Burton Albion on Oct. 18. That win snapped a two-game losing streak and provided a glimmer of hope for a squad that has been outscored 28-9 in league play.

Blackpool (2-8-2) arrives after a 1-1 home draw with Wycombe Wanderers, a result that extended its winless run in the league to five matches. The Tangerines have managed just one win in their last ten outings across all competitions and have been shut out in six of their eight losses.

According to the Interstat game simulator, Peterborough is projected to earn a 2-1 victory, building on the momentum from its last outing.

Following this match, Peterborough will host AFC Wimbledon on Nov. 8, while Blackpool’s next fixture is at home against Cardiff City on the same date.
