STOCKHOLM (Interstat) — Sirius opened its Allsvenskan campaign with a decisive 3-1 victory over Varnamo on Sunday at Studenternas IP. The home side’s attack proved potent, with defender Tobias Anker leading the way by scoring a goal and adding an assist. Erik Freij opened the scoring for Sirius in the 16th minute, answered by Varnamo’s Neo Jönsson before halftime. Substitute Mohammad Al Salkhadi restored Sirius’s lead in the 60th minute before Anker sealed the win late. The result outperformed statistical projections that favored Sirius.
