VARNAMO, Sweden (Interstat) — Mjallby dominated Varnamo in a 5-0 away victory Monday in Sweden’s Allsvenskan at Finnvedsvallen. Substitute Elliot Stroud led the rout with a hat trick, scoring first in the 18th minute. Viktor Gustafsson and Alexander Johansson, also substitutes, added second-half goals. Mjallby, which extended its unbeaten run, played a man up after Varnamo defender Souleymane Coulibaly received a red card in the 49th minute. The lopsided result defied pregame projections that favored the home side. Mjallby improved its strong season record while Varnamo’s struggles continued.
