Orleans Hosts Fleury 91 in National 1 Rematch Saturday
ORLEANS, France (Interstat) — Orleans will look to avenge a lopsided loss earlier this season when it hosts Fleury 91 on Saturday, May 9, in a National 1 matchup.
Kickoff is set for [TIME TBD] at Stade de la Source.
The game pits a Fleury 91 side riding a wave of momentum against an Orleans squad seeking consistency.
Fleury 91 enters the contest on a four-match winning streak, most recently blanking Le Puy Foot 4-0 on May 1. The visitors have been dominant defensively, allowing just two goals across their past five games while scoring 13.
In the most recent head-to-head meeting Jan. 16, Fleury 91 defeated Orleans 3-0 at home. That result extended Fleury 91’s recent dominance in the series, though Saturday’s match marks the return leg in Orleans.
Orleans earned a 1-1 draw with Concarneau on April 10, its most recent result. The home side has been inconsistent this season but showed resilience in a 2-1 win over Paris 13 Atletico on March 13 and a 3-1 victory at Stade Briochin on March 6.
However, Orleans has struggled for goals, with draws in three of its past five matches. The team has managed just two clean sheets in its last 10 league games.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-1 draw.
Fleury 91’s recent form includes wins by multiple goals over La Berrichonne de Châteauroux (2-0), Valenciennes (2-0) and Dijon (3-1). The team’s only hiccup in the past two months was a 4-0 loss to Concarneau on Feb. 27, a result it has since answered with five wins in six games.
Orleans will face a deep Fleury 91 attack that has scored three or more goals in four of its past seven matches.
After Saturday, each team has one regular-season game remaining. Fleury 91 hosts Rouen on May 15. Orleans travels to face Dijon on the same date.
The National 1 is France’s third-tier professional league.
