VILLEFRANCHE-SUR-SAÔNE, France (Interstat) — VF Beaujolais opened its National 1 season with a 3-1 home victory over Paris 13 Atletico on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Stade Armand Chouffet, outperforming statistical projections.

Sambaly Keïta opened the scoring for the hosts in the 19th minute. Forward Malick Assef doubled the lead in the 62nd minute before adding a late third goal. Substitute Marvin Gakpa scored the lone goal for Paris 13 Atletico.

The result defied Interstat’s pregame simulator, which had projected a 1-1 draw, and its ELO system, which gave Beaujolais a 67.5% win probability. The home side begins its campaign at 1-0-0, while Paris 13 Atletico starts 0-0-1.
