CHÂTEAUROUX, France (Interstat) — La Berrichonne de Châteauroux secured a 3-1 victory over Concarneau in a French National 1 match Friday at Stade Gaston Petit.

The home side, which entered with only two wins this season, defied projections by taking control early. Defender Paul Wade opened the scoring in the 12th minute. Substitute Youssouf Soukouna doubled the lead just four minutes later.

Concarneau, which had a 70% win probability according to statistical models, could not recover. Forward Noa Mupemba sealed the result for Châteauroux with a goal in the 49th minute. Concarneau’s lone reply came in the second half. The match featured four yellow cards, three shown to Châteauroux players.
