Kitchee Edges Lee Man 1‑0 in Tight Hong Kong Premier League Clash to Stay Unbeaten
HONG KONG (Interstat) — Kitchee remained unbeaten in Hong Kong Premier League play with a narrow 1-0 victory over Lee Man on Sunday at Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground.
The match’s lone goal came in the 55th minute from midfielder Yumemi Kanda. He was set up by goalkeeper Pong Cheuk Hei, who recorded a rare assist. Substitute Mikael also assisted on the decisive play.
The win preserves first-place Kitchee’s perfect league record, now at 12-0-1. Lee Man, which fell to Kitchee 3-2 in their previous meeting last September, saw its strong form checked and sits at 8-2-2.
Late yellow cards were shown to Mikael in the 88th minute and Pong Cheuk Hei in the 89th. The result defied a pregame projection that forecast a 2-1 Kitchee win.
