Kitchee Edges Eastern District on Late First-Half Strike

KOWLOON (Interstat) — Yumemi Kanda’s goal just before halftime lifted Kitchee to a 1-0 victory over Eastern District in a Hong Kong Premier League match Tuesday at Mong Kok Stadium.

Kanda found the net in the third minute of first-half stoppage time, providing the only offense in a contest where Kitchee was heavily favored. Interstat’s game simulator had projected a 3-1 Kitchee win, and its ELO system gave the home side a 96.2% probability of victory.

The result gives Kitchee a winning start to its league campaign at 1-0-0, while Eastern District begins 0-1-0. Both teams see their overall season records mirror those league marks.
