HUANCAYO, Peru (Interstat) — Alianza Lima defeated Sport Huancayo 2-1 on Monday in a Peruvian Primera División match at Estadio Huancayo. Substitute Paolo Guerrero opened the scoring for the visitors in the 23rd minute. After a second-half red card to Pablo Ceppelini, the match erupted in stoppage time with two late goals. Diego Carabaño scored for Alianza Lima in the 98th minute, and Hernán Barcos answered for Huancayo a minute later. The result defied a pregame projection that favored a draw.
