Atlas vs Toluca

MEXICO CITY (Interstat) — A surging Toluca side will look to extend its unbeaten run against a struggling Atlas club when the Liga MX rivals meet Saturday.

The match at Estadio Jalisco in Guadalajara pits two teams at opposite ends of the table. Toluca (10-2-3) enters the contest near the top of the league, while Atlas (4-7-3) is mired near the bottom. Their records across all competitions are identical to their Liga MX campaigns.

Toluca is riding a six-match unbeaten streak in the league, with its last result a 2-2 draw with Pachuca on Oct. 26. The club’s attack has been formidable, scoring four or more goals in four of its last nine matches.

In contrast, Atlas is seeking stability after a 4-1 road loss to Guadalajara on Oct. 25 snapped a brief two-match unbeaten run. Defense has been a persistent issue for the home side, which has conceded three or more goals in five of its matches this season.

Despite the divergent form, Interstat’s game simulator projects a tightly contested 1-1 draw.

Following this match, Toluca will host America on Nov. 8. Atlas will travel to face Tijuana on Nov. 7.
