SANDEFJORD, Norway (Interstat) — Sandefjord opened its Eliteserien season with a 2-0 victory over KFUM on Sunday at Jotun Arena, defying a pregame projection that favored the visitors. Defender Zinedin Smajlovic opened the scoring in the 37th minute and then assisted on a goal by midfielder Vetle Egeli just before halftime. The shutout win gave Sandefjord a perfect start to the Norwegian top-flight campaign, while KFUM began its season with a loss.
